If you are talking about SEO then the answer is write for the user.  Google changes what it wants everyday anymore, in terms of SEO.

If you have good content, then all of the search engines will find your work.  Make sure you submit your sitemaps to all 3.

If you are just talking about searching the internet for something you want, Google and Bing will both give you good results. Google gets about 80% of search engine traffic.

What do you mean when you say best exactly ?

Which engine provides the most relevant results ?

Or which engine you can make the most money from?

My personal preference is Google, I've been trialling the new webmaster tools from Bing and I can't say I'm overly impressed so far.

There are no general best results in any search engine. If you have quality, relevant content, quality links from relevant sites (not black hat linking techniques) and your site is not loaded with ads, then you will eventually start seeing results.

The only way to get instant search results for high traffic, high value keywords is to buy ads in google ads or bing ads or wherever you want results. Basically slow and steady wins the race anymore. Both these search engines have updated their search algorithms to thwart most SEO black (or grey) hat tactics.  Read up on Google Panda and Penguin and you will know what is the most recent goings on in the world of Google.

Google is the biggest search engine used, with Bing a way behind second.  But both are necessary for good results as they are 99% of the search engine market.

SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” It is the process of getting traffic from the “free,” “organic,” “editorial” or “natural” listings on search engines. All major search engines such as Google, Yahoo and bing have such results, where web pages and other content such as videos or local listings are shown and ranked based on what the search engine considers most relevant to users.

It does not mean dropping unwanted links on forums like these
