I have EW3 and Windows7.  I have used FP for years and now use EW.  Uploading files to the server is very fast in FP and extremely slow in EW3.  Is this normal or do I have something set wrong?

EW has had a problem with timestamps that MS knows about.  Are you publishing individual pages or are you just selecting the publish button and letting EW figure out what is supposed to be published?  If this is the case, you may want to select the pages to publish instead of doing a blind publish.  EW uses timestamps to determine if the server file and the computer file are different.  If they are, it publishes the page (even though you may not have changed it).  I think sometimes it has something to do with the server itself, but it is a problem.  Unfortunately even the 3rd party ftp's have the problem.

EW3 has the option to set more ftp connections.  If you have it set higher than the server allows this will also cause it to be slow.  I am thinking I read that somewhere in the EW3 help files, but it could have been in the MS site also.

I have continued to try to find the problem with the slow upload and I have finally narrowed it down to the SP1.  Everything is fine before installing EW3 Service Pack 1.  When I uninstalled EW3 and reinstalled it, uploads were the usual speed.  After installing SP1, there is a long delay before it uploads the file or files.  Unless someone has a suggestion, I plan to remove SP1, although I do like the ability to change the color scheme.
